In response to the decrease in patients with flu-like symptoms, GDAHA hospitals have rescinded the visitation
restriction for children under the age of 14 effective January 19, 2010.
Although children will be permitted in the nursing units, they are not permitted to enter the Newborn or NICU
due to the continuing RSV season. Hospitals will continue to limit visitations from anyone who is ill
with any respiratory symptoms including fever, chills, headache, vomiting, sore throat, muscle aches or diarrhea.
"We will continue to monitor the presence of seasonal and H1N1 flu viruses," stated Bryan Bucklew, President & CEO of
the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association. "In order to protect the health and safety of patients in their care,
hospitals reserve the right to implement additional restrictions should an increase the seasonal flu determine that
such actions are necessary," he added.
